ONE DOLLAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TO SAVE THE EARTH :)

So this past Saturday I was in Philly. Saturday morning I went over to Buffalo Exchange in Center City to consign some of my discarded goods and what do I have the pleasure of finding? In celebration of earth day (April 16th) Buffalo Exchange was having a ONE DOLLAR SALE!!!! And let me tell you it wasn't full of a bunch of junk either. There were tops bottoms, dresses, jewelry, shoes you name it. No tax. However, its outside and you have to keep everything outside. But who cares it's a DOLLAR! If I had known I would have been there when the door opened and equipped a ton of money! They have it every year so next year I will be prepared. Here are a few of my gorgeous finds. MUUAHHH!

Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton - A Love Story

So I fell off with my blogging for a little bit but I'm trying to get back on track here. Been in a bit of a weird mood for a couple but now I'm over myself so here we go. I know I'm a day late but I had to comment on the recent death of an amazing style icon and complete inspiration to so many people, including me! Even more that her amazing wardrobe I think what I admire most about this women was her passion. Her passion was reflected in her career as an actress philanthropic efforts and of course her romantic life. Forgive me if it seems cliche but her the tail of her romance with Rich Burton is my absolute favorite.I think I read the article in Vanity Fair about 3 different times. I am seriously waiting for it to be made into a movie. Above is a video of photo's of the couple together looking gorgeous and in love. Below are photo's of vintage Elizabeth in some of the most amazing clothing ever worn. She has left a permanent mark and the world and will truly be missed!

Japan Quake: Rescuers Search Through Scenes Of Devastation

About a week or so ago I was just saying that I hope the one day to go to Japan to study fashion and just experience the culture. This week I am completely dumbfounded by what I'm seeing on T.V. and on the internet. This is especially true because the image that I hold in my head is of a very vibrant, colorful, Japan that is full of life and excitement! What I am seeing these days makes me feel as if I am watching a movie. I can't imagine what it is like to be in the mist of everything that is going on there right now. Above is a video of a woman looking for her mother and it literally gave me chills as she pics up a photo and some curtains that she thinks may belong to her mother. Below are pictures of Japan and it's fabulous fashion scene pre- earthquake. Man-o-man...there really are no words. Much love to beautiful Japan...Muuahhh.

The boob scarf. The Japanese have an awesome sense of humor !!!

So gorgeous! This is all me next time I get my nails done.

Fashionable Fela!

So the 70's and Africa has led me to my very own heritage of course. I am Nigerian and so naturally I am very much into alluring colors and patterns and intense glamor of African clothing. I was looking for some interesting pictures and or videos to post and found some footage of Music legend Fela Kuti, who by-the-way had a rather fabulous broad way musical written and performed about him. Of course I didn't get to see it but I heard all of the raves.

Definitely a fashionistO! Definitely an ICON! Watch the videos of his performance and the clipping along with his music. Check out the fur! He's a DIVA!

Fashion in Africa

So I was talking to my cousin the other day about how the fashion industry is still somewhat lacking in diversity and could stand a touch of something new. Its kind of sad when you try to think of at least two or three main stream African American designers and the only person that comes to mind is...Tracy Reese. I know it probably means I just need to do a little more digging but it is an indication that the world still hasn't changed as much as we all thought and it's about time it shake things up a bit.
Naturally I started searching for fashion in Africa and I came across this really cool project called fashion in Africa that features some very talented designers (many from Tunisia). Apparently fashion has become a means of bringing the continent together, celebrating culture and strengthening the economy. Watch the video above. You'll love it !Muuahhh!
